Wavecation adds it's 200th Vacation Property

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 April, 2012 : - - Wavecation recently added it's 200th vacation property to the website. What’s unique about the 200+ properties is the prime location of each one. Founder Matt Thomson claims, 'These are the ski-in/ski-out accommodations of the surf world.'  Properties range from vacation rental condo to mega resort to beachfront bungalow.  There is a property on Wavecation to fit every budget and accommodate every surf skill level.

The website layout is set up like most popular surfcam/surf report websites allowing you to choose a country, region or even specific surf breaks. Instead of seeing the surf report for each surf break, you're able to view the hotels or rental homes that are closest to the wave.  The design is clean, the navigation intuitive and each property is pinpointed on a map along with the closest surf breaks, showing potential guests exactly how far they’ll have to walk to the wave.  The site is free to use and the advantage for surfers is the time saved versus using a traditional web search or more general travel websites.

Wavecation was founded by surfers in Austin, Texas in 2010. While Austin is not known for it’s surf, it is home to vacation rental giants HomeAway, VRBO, and Bedandbreakfast.com.  Wavecation was the first of several niche vacation sites to bring the concept to the surf market by restricting it's property listings to those located directly on a surf break and providing location based information detailing the distance to each surf break.
