South side of pier in Virginia Beach to host event

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 May, 2012 : - - The VA Chapter of the ASF will kick-off the 5th and last contest of the season May 12th on 14th Street at the Oceanfront on the southside of the Pier in VB. Whalebone Surf Shop is sponsoring the contest and will be on the beach with prizes for all ASF Finalists and The Boxx will be donating lunch for all competitors and staff! Also, a big shout out of thanks to X-track for donating track tops for some of our finalists.

Open Shortboard is 50/50 split purse for open division between ASF & Champion. Open limited to first 20 entries. You can register for this event on-line or: va.atlanticsurfing.org/competition. Or sign up at Whalebone Surf Shop, Coastal Edge at oceanfront, Freedom Surf, Juice Box Surf, 17th Street at oceanfront and WRV.

Registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 9th and limited beach entries to fill any remaining slots available will be awarded to those who first sign-up on the beach Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. As the season closes, we’d like to thank all of our sponsors for your generous support of ASF and belief in our program both for the past season and upcoming one: Coastal Edge Surf Shop, Freedom Surf Shop, Juice Box Surf, 17th Street Surf Shop, Wave Riding Vehicles, Whalebone Surf Shop, Billabong, The Boxx, O’Neill, Reef, Von Zipper and Surfersvillage.
