Alex Smith wins 2012 Volcomania World Championships

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 13 May, 2012 : - - The final day of the Volcomania surf championships went off on Saturday with hot action in the water and wresting action on the beach. Crazy antics happened. Crowds showed up for the annual Volcom VQS World Championships. This year's Volcomania theme was wrestlers, wearing tight spandex and Speedos. The kids screamed jeered and cheered the fighters.

Zander Venezia, 10, had the right side of his face painted with a black and white lightning bolt. The young rider came all the way from Barbados for the surf event. When he lost out early in the day, he didn't even want to go surf at Lowers. At other contests, you get knocked out and you go home. Here, you want to daty and not even go surfing.
