Charitable fundraising event held in Huntington Beach benefits local organizations

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 June, 2012 : - - For the fourth consecutive year, Rip Curl has sponsored Duke's Big Wednesday, a fun, charitable fundraiser which benefits HB Lifeguards, HB Surf Lifesaving Association, OC Coastkeepers, SurfAid International and Project Wipeout. Rip Curl stocked the raffle counter with prizes from watches to hats to new Mirage boardshorts to stoke out event-goers and raise money for the causes.

Jack's, 17th Street Surf Shop, and On the Wall Racks were co-sponsors of the evening and Suplove also donated a stand-up paddleboard. "Big Wednesday is part of T S Restaurant's Legacy of Aloha program which is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve.  We are passionate about protecting marine habitats and coastal waters through education, responsible product sourcing, research, awareness and respect for our environment," says TS Community Relations Coordinator, Mary Ashcroft.

$1642 was raised, and throughout the decade of the events, over $200,000 has been raised. Not to mention, great drink specials, amazing live music, and ‘ono grinds, and the celebration of PT's (Peter Townend) 59th Birthday! Happy Birthday, mate!
