Clean Swell Lines Up For Day One Of The Queensland Masters & Women’s Surfing Series – Event Two

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 June, 2012 : - - Sunshine Coast, Queensland -- The Sunshine Coast lived up to its name on day-one of the 2012 Queensland Masters & Women’s Surfing Series – Event Two, with competitors treated to clear skies and clean, 1.5m waves at Alexandra Headland. Maroochydore stalwart Matt Clark was an early standout, advancing into the final of the blue ribbon O/35 Men’s division.

The technical natural-footer (left foot forward stance), posted a combined two-wave heat total of 14.04 (out of a possible 20) in his semi-final, advancing alongside Craig Warren (Elanora, Qld – 13.50) with third placed Regan Rogers (Parkwood, Qld) bowing out with a total of 8.83 points.

Clark finished in the top-ten of the 2012 Chiko Queensland Championship Circuit Open Men’s series earlier this year and will be looking to continue his run of form as he makes his first appearance in this year’s Masters’ series. Jason Frost (Palm Beach, Qld) leads the race for XXXX Summer Bright Lager ‘Wave of the Weekend’ after posting the day’s highest single wave score of 8.67 (out of a possible 10 points).

The highest individual wave score (out of a possible 10 points) throughout the two-day event will be awarded four cartons of XXXX Summer Bright Lager. As per the 2012 Surfing Australia Rule Book, allocations for the 2012 Australian Surf Masters Titles are as follows:

O/35 Men – Four 
O/40 Men – Four
O/45 Men – Four
O/50 Men – Four
O/55 Men – Two
Open Women – Four
Over 35 Women - Two
