Arica - Worthy of another WCT Event? Shark says yes
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 June, 2012 : - - The Maui and Sons Arica World Star ASP Mens 3-Star event, is going off at El Gringo, Arica, Chile this week from 12 to 17 June 2012. After watching some of the highlights there’s no doubt in Shark Freestyle's mind that the Dream Tour should return to this epic wave. It was awesome during the 2007 Rip Curl Search Event and clearly spectacular again for this event.
These guys are getting shacked. Help Shark start the movement. Bring the WCT back to Arica, Chile.
Barreling left-handers in the 4-6 foot range at El Gringo. Chileans show their local knowledge. The highly dangerous El Gringo caused about twenty competitors to need medical attention so far throughout the event. Carlos Munoz was thrown face first into the reef and was taken away in an ambulance.
