Day 2 of Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles goes off

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 June, 2012 : - -Port Macquarie -- With day 1 out of the way in clean 3 foot conditions yesterday, it was back at Town Beach today for more sunshine and perfect Longboard waves. The elder statesmen got round 2 underway and making his debut performance in the event was 83 year old Magoo in the over 65’s.

The Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW State Longboard Titles brought Barry McGuigan (Norah Head) - the events oldest competitor, up against fellow over 65 surfer Danny Bond (Blue Bay) and Phil Nicol (North Curl Curl). They were all in fine form and showing age shall not weary those who frequent the sea.

Tomorrow will see the over 35’s take to the water for the first time in the event and round 2 will begin for the salt encrusted sea dogs in the over 65, 50 and 55’s divisions. Australian Skin Cancer Clinics are giving out FREE Skin Cancer Check Vouchers to all Surfing NSW Members at the State Longboard Titles and Janine was on hand to answer any questions competitors had in regards to regular skin checks.

The annual event will see competitors travel form all corners of the state to enjoy a week long competition and well over due catch up with friends. The Town Green Inn is the official competitors venue and will host a function on Thursday night for all competitors and their families.

The event will be fully mobile in the Port Macquarie area with Town Beach, Rainbow Beach, Grants beach, Flyns Beach, Light House and North Haven Beach all venue options. The daily Running Schedule and Contest location will be confirmed on the Event Hotline (0458 247 212) after 7:00am each day of the event.
