Basque Country and Northern Ireland similarites emerge during exchange program

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 June, 2012 : - - In April 15 Irish and 15 Basque surfers got to know each other better while riding the waves. Cross Culture Surf is a surf exchange programme celebrating and examining the differences and similarities in culture and tradition between the Basque Country and Ireland. Phase one of the project was filmed in Lahinch Co. Clare, an Irish surfing hot spot, where young people took part in activities and chatted about what their culture means to them. They also took part in a series of activites promoting inter-cultural dialogue and understanding.

The video documentary for Phase 1 of the Cross Culture Surf programme courtesy of Pello Salaberria is viewable below. The organization is currently looking for financial backing for Phase 2 so that the Irish team can travel to the Basque Country in August. To help out contact hello@crossculturesurf.com.
