Airwalk Lacanau Pro Junior to run alongside the Lacanau Pro ASP 6-Star

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 June, 2012 : - - From 9 till 19 August 2012 takes place Lacanau Pro, stage of the world championship of professional surfing of the ASP*. This event welcomes the best international surfers on Grande Plage 's Spot, to Lacanau Océan (33-Gironde). This 33rd edition of "French Pro" looks forward to the return of the young Brazilian prodigy Gabriel Médina, who throws in his title in front of the world elite.

Lacanau Pro 2012 begins from 10 till 13 August with the Airwalk Lacanau Pro Junior, inescapable stage of the surfers of less than 21 years. At the conclusion of this competition the winner reaches directly the final phases of Lacanau Pro on 2012 to confront in the biggest.

Gabriel Médina ( 18 years), revealed during the last edition, stands out in a consecutive way: winner of the Junior Pro and the title Lacanau Pro on 2011. Year 2011 is a big year for Medina which takes away 4 victories and eliminates, twice, the multiple world champion, Kelly Slater, in quarterfinal. The young surfer so upsets the hierarchy of the professional surfing. Medina is the fourth Brazilian who dominates the competition since the creation of Lacanau Pro. He has henceforth all the cards in hand to insure a new victory but places in finale are dear and the pretenders to the title numerous.

During these 10 days, the event is given rhythm by concerts, animations, evenings and days with themes in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
