Surf Riot exhibition shows at Parisian fashion hub
Surf Art News
Surf Riot is part of Beaches, the collective exhibition presented in Collette, Paris
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 July, 2012 : - - The SURF RIOT exhibition, by Nick Waplington, presented by Surfilmfestibal in NOCOLOR thanks to the support of XSories.com, is now shown in BEACH, a collective exhibition at Colette, the temple of fashion, art and design in Paris.
And we are pretty pumped up by the news! It was a risky bet to use one of Waplington´s photos as our official Surfilmfestibal 10 image. We thought it was a totally contemporary image, shot by one of the most respected photographers from the UK. Our public loved it. But to be honest, not a single International surf media has been intrigued or interested in this very iconic moment in modern surf culture, portrayed by an iconic art photographer… we were kind of sad of not being understood.
Now, seeing Nick´s work alongside Deanna Templeton, Will Sanders, Oliver Krooning and Dennis Orel) at one of the most respected modernity temples in the World, is the kind of support we needed! Thanks to XSories for supporting the exhibition thus making it possible, of course Sarah from Colette
BEACHES July 16th / September 1st. Collete. 213 Rue St Honoré. Paris.
