Musician Haumoana carries musical saga of Rapa Nui

Music Updates
His CD "Land of Kings" Top Rated in the Islands, beyond
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 August, 2012 : - - Haumoana was born under the name of Ioan Hau Moana Pakarati Hotu on the magical island of Rapa Nui or Easter Island, "the navel of the world". Easter Island is surrounded by hundreds of miles of ocean, about 3000 km from the nearest continent of South America. Rapa Nui is the most isolated place on earth with about 5000 inhabitants. Being isolated did not prevent Haumoana from pursuing his goals and achieving his studies and education abroad.
Today he is one of the few musicians in the World that plays left handed after secretly changing his guitar strings. Like Jimmy Hendrix and Coco Montoya he plays with the strings upside down.
Music is a big part of the culture in Rapa Nui. Haumoana is one of the many local musicians who carries the message in his blood. Haumoana wants to keep the Rapa Nui culture alive in his music. His songs are about every day life and love. Since leaving and traveling his music has gone in many directions. He creates musical compositions in English, Spanish and his local language with a mixture of Reggae, Soul, and lately has added some electronic beats. His music is played at dance parties all over the Pacific Islands!
In January 2012 he recorded his new CD, "Land of Kings" with renowned musicians like James Harrah, who played with Madona, and Walter Rodriguez. Also with bassist Renee Camacho who was with Celine Dion. The CD tells about his connection with Polynesian people and his culture. He has a great connect with the sea as he is a surfer. "I have a deep passion for the sea and nature". This is reflected in the name Haumoana which means "blue race" or people from the ocean. The ocean, nature and travel are his inspiration for creating music.
He has traveled extensively outside of Rapa Nui. He has spent time in Germany, United States, Hawaii, Chili and Tahiti. His travels have exposed him to new cultures and allowed him to gain influences outside of the small island where he grew up. Rapa Nui is where his heart belongs. He wants to share his music and culture with the world!
His CD 'Land of Kings" is top rated in Tahiti and he will be touring and playing his music in the Hawaiian Islands in July and August. Join Haumoana as he brings his love for life and nature to Hawaii.
Haumoana says.....
"Hai mahatu mai Rapa Nui,
Bringing love from Rapa Nui".
