Two of Trinidad's best young surfers receive prestigious ISA Scholarship

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 August, 2012 : - - The Surfing Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) is very happy to announce that two of Trinidad's promising young surfers, Jyiell Lewis, 14, and Elton John, 13, of Balandra, have been awarded grants by the ISA International Scholarship Programme. They were both participants of SATT's Surfing Development Program in 2010 and since then have continued to be mentored by National Surfing Champion, Chris Dennis, who also hails from Balandra.

Lewis and John met the requirements as role model, student surfers under the age of 18. The Surfing Association of Trinidad and Tobago sanctioned the two youths and helped facilitate their application process, which included inspirational essays.

We look forward to seeing these two young men develop their skills and are thankful for the support from the international surfing community. 2013 promises to be an exciting year to watch young, local talent develop, both on our shores and at regional competitions.
