Quiksilver Pro France puts Landes beach breaks in the spotlight

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 September, 2012 : - - Between 28th September and the 8th October 2012, France’s incredible waves will host the World’s Top 34 surfers to compete in the 7th of the 10 events on the ASP World Tour 2012. At the end of September: it’s (almost always) an Indian summer on the beaches of the Basco-Landaise coast but, in terms of waves, it looks more like the Hawaiian North Shore.

The first of two European events on the great ASP World Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France puts Landes beach breaks in the spotlight. All the stars will be here to challenge for this major event for the World Championship’s male surfing elite: the living legend Kelly Slater, the double World Champion Mick Fanning, the prodigy and reigning champion Gabriel Medina, and the native son Jeremy Flores...

On the beach the event - although mobile to benefit from the best waves on the coast - attracts an impressive crowd of fans from around the world. It is the ultimate setting.
