Austrian Surfing Championships run in Ericeira, Portugal

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 September, 2012 : - - Ericeira presented itself in the best light for its premiere as the location of the Austrian Champs: in close to perfect conditions with nice waves and sunny weather on both contest days the Austrian surf scene could prove its high level. After two days with exciting heats the results were:

Open Men:
1. Jonas Bachan
2. Holger Hassenpflug
3. Marco Holzner

In the Open Men class 14-year-old Jonas Bachan successfully defended his title. The former multiple Austrian champ Holger Hassenpflug won silber and newcomer Marco Holzner bronze.

Masters:
1. Philipp Lamprecht
2. Anton „Jeff“ Lombard
3. Holger Hassenpflug

In the first time run Masters-class Philipp Lamprecht, whose „Chillandsurf“camps are known as the cradle of the Austrian surf scene, defeated Anton „Jeff“ Lombard and Holger Hassenpflug in the final.

Longboard:
1. Benjamin Richter
2. Peter Ottinger
3. Christoph „Bub“ Warnung

Longboarder Benjamin Richter came out on top in a thrilling heat against Peter Ottinger and Christoph „Bub“ Warnung, thereby becoming Austrian Longboard Champ for the fourth time.

Open Women:
1. Lisa Veith
2. Maria Miedler

Lisa Veith became Austrian Open Women champ, Maria Miedler won the silber medal. We would like to thank Blue Tomato, Billabong, Beats by Dr. Dre, Verival Bio, Smith, Portugalsurfcamp, Nalu Surfcamps, Mellowmove Surfcamps, Ridehere-Ridenow and Swox as well as the Ericeira Surf Club and the Federacao Portuguesa de Surf for their support, Alex Papis for the photos and Lukas Roucka and Sebastian Haas for the footage!
