Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 October, 2012 : - - The 2012 European Rip Curl GromSearch series presented by POSCA is all set to finish in style with the under 16 boys and girls European finals taking place on October 8th & 9th during the Rip Curl Pro Portugal presented by Mocha. The series has seen 12 different GromSearch events held across France, United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain. The winners in the U16 boys and girls divisions will now travel to Peniche to compete in the final which will be webcast live on the 9th.

Up for grabs in Portugal is not only the chance to be crowned European GromSearch Series Champion, but also the opportunity to win a trip to the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach in 2013 to compete in the International GromSearch final. Europe's best young surfers will be competing on the biggest stage in front of huge crowds, both at the beach and in front of a massive global online audience.

For these young surfers, the Rip Curl GromSearch series presented by POSCA is a true stepping stone into the world of pro surfing. As an indication of its star finding capabilities the list of previous International GromSearch champions includes a who’s who of surfing such as Stephanie Gilmore, Jordy Smith, Owen Wright, Matt Wilkinson and Alana Blanchard. The European finalists in the U16 boys division are Julen Egiguren (ESP), Asier Iriondo (ESP), Aldric God (FRA), Arthur Lassée (FRA), Leonardo Fioravanti (ITA), Tomas Fernandes (PRT), Guilherme Fonceca (PRT), Angus Scotney (UK), Liam Murray Stout (UK) and Eliot Ivarra (FRA).

In the girls, Maddi Aizpurua (ESP), Ainara Aymat (ESP), Joséphine Costes (FRA), Kim Véteau (FRA), Camila Kemp (PRT), Keshia Eyre (PRT), Peony Knight (UK) and Rachel Cosier (UK) will battle it out for the title. Accompanying the surfing, POSCA will also unveil its first European art exhibition, where the winners from the 11 GromSearch events, plus an online competition, will showcase their customised surfboards.
