$20,000 Open Pro makes event llargest professional surfing event in Florida

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 October, 2012 : - - We are excited to announce Jacksonville’s premier $22,000 cash purse professional surfing contest, the Kona Pro Jax (formerly the Seven Tiki Pro), brought to you by Kona Brewing Company and presented by Mellow Mushroom. The event will be held November 1-4 at the Jacksonville Beach Pier and will feature some of the country’s most talented surfers. As in previous years, the event continues to grow with the goal to make this a world-renowned surfing event right here in Jacksonville.

This year we’re raising the stakes by featuring a $20,000 Open Pro making it the largest professional surfing event in the state of Florida and the third largest on the East Coast. Same as last year, the Kona Pro Jax is a crucial stop in the Western Atlantic Surf Series as well. Plus, a new event will be featured this year – the $2,000 Junior Pro presented by Autoline Preowned. The Kona Pro Jax will continue the excellence in events prior by continuing the use of live computer scoring and ASP qualified judging.
