Ground Zero Up: Kiwi Surf Mag gets new site
Re-tooled Kiwi Surf Magazine website prides itself on fresh content
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 October, 2012 : - - Yeah we know! Not another website pumping out the same old regurgitated web sodden video clips and images – by the time the Kelly Slater interview gets to a New Zealand website – everyone who wants to read it already has. Before we decided to overhaul the website we took a lot of advice from a lot of people, some even knew what they were talking about. Basically the answer was throw it out and start again, new look, new attitude, and so fresh it’s still on the tree.
The new KSM is a site that won’t have week old surf reports, or clips you have already seen ten times, it is structured so that you will want to come back every day just to check it out, you’ll even be able to cross check via social media.
We have a team working on the website whose job it is to sort through all the crap that is on the net and put up only that which is new and fresh. Plus we are producing constantly new material. Obviously there is a mountain of editorial and images that never makes it in the magazine, where you gonna find that? ….KSM website. We have whole photo-shoots that never make it on to these pages, where you gonna find them?..... KSM website.
We’ll have comps but they won’t be for a free copy or block of wax – first up we have 10 dozen beers for someone who wants to celebrate, there will be overseas trips to give away and tens of thousands worth of cash up for grabs.
The website is fully integrated with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and plethora of other social media – KSM website won’t tell ya what the surf is going to be like but it will show you how good it was yesterday. If you have not been there yet check it out KSM.co.nz
