Hawaii 2012 Vans World Cup Of Surfing
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 December, 2012 : - - Aloha from the North Shore. Aussie Adam Melling nailed the second jewel of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing on Tuesday by winning the World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, defeating Brazilian Gabriel Medina, Hawaiian Sebastien 'Seabass' Zietz and fellow Australian Adrian Ace Buchan in the 30 minute final.
Melling made last year's World Cup final and qualified for the 2012 ASP Top 34 in the process. By winning this year's tense final he again re-qualified for the 2013 Top 34.

Seabass, who had never won an ASP event before the Reef Hawaiian Pro two weeks ago led the final for most of time before Melling and Medina, who was in his first ever Hawaii final, both rode waves in the last minutes. Melling jumped from 3rd to 1st with a long winding wave off Sunset Point while Medina tucked into a rare barrel securing a second place finish.
With his third place Seabass now has a strong lead in the Triple Crown ratings and seems to be on track for the $100,000 prize-money and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
