Surfrider Foundation and Firewire Surfboards Team up for Holiday Ornament Contest

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 December, 2012 : - - The Surfrider Foundation and Firewire Surfboards have teamed up to trash your holiday!  From now through December 21st, people are encouraged to create a unique beach-litter inspired holiday ornament and share it with the world via Instagram (hash tagged #trashyholidays).

“While the holidays are a time for joyous celebration, we also typically see a lot of inclement weather this time of year, which often results in a massive amount of trash and debris being wash out on to our beaches in into our line ups,” says Matt McClain, Surfrider Foundation’s Director of Marketing & Communications.  “This is a great way to both embrace the holidays and keep the health of our beaches top of mind."

Surfrider will pick out their top few favorites who could find themselves winning a host of cool prizes, including a head-to-toe apparel package, a GoPro Hero2 Surf Edition camera, and new custom Firewire surfboard.  Winners will be announced via the Surfrider Foundation and Firewire Surfboards Instagram pages on December 24th.
