Taj’s Small Fries has become one of the most popular junior surfing events in Australia and is the first event on the Surfing WA event calendar for 2013. Taj Burrow was elated to be in his hometown and hosting an event which has been running since 2006. "Home is an incredibly special place for me and to have this event for an eighth straight year, I couldn't be happier." Burrow said. Bill Webb of the local Wardan people started proceedings with a welcome to the land ceremony, blessing all involved and spoke of the importance of the waters around Yallingup to the local people.
The City of Busselton Mayor Ian Stubbs officially opened the event to the 110 entrants who are set to compete across six divisions. "Taj is a local product who is achieving amazing results on the world scene.
