'Secrets to Progressive Surfing' by Didier Piter captures all the surfing essentials

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 January, 2013 : - - It's our pleasure to announce the launch of "Secrets to progressive Surfing", the first European book on surfing essentials and advanced surf techniques to help you become a complete surfer. Written by Europe's best qualified surfcoach and surf legend, Didier Piter, with world class photography and art direction by Bernard Testemale, this maybe the most complete Surfbook ever edited.

It teaches you everything you need to know about the waves, the way to use them and the right techniques to surf your best. Add to this the foreword and sequences from the most complete surfer of all himself, Kelly Slater, along with wonderful photography, and you have the book you need to boost your surfing.

Excerpted Section of Forward by Kelly Slater:

Each person has a different path they wish to follow. I have always loved the challenge of competition but in surfing nowadays there are so many directions you can go. You can just freesurf or you can follow big waves and either paddle or tow. You can try and be a tour pro or get a job in the industry where you can go on surf trips for the rest of your life. Maybe you're a hippie and just want to travel and not have a job. I would recommend cooking and massage because wherever you go you can still find work.

Surfers, I find, are probably as true to themselves as any people and at the end of the day the whole idea is to try and catch the best waves you can for what you like to do. Don't stray from that objective... And give a wave to someone else sometimes even if you're the one in the perfect place for it. You'll appreciate the next one much more.
