2013 Quiksilver Rincon Classic: Waiting Period Half Way Point, Event Moves to February 2nd & 3rd

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 January, 2013 : - - We are opting to postpone the Rincon Classic for the coming weekend and will keep moving to each consecutive weekend hereafter until we are blessed with ideallic surf and weather conditions. Our official forecasters at Surfline are calling for knee to chest high waves this weekend, with the possibility for rain and winds.

Know that each week we postpone, the decision is a difficult one wrought with should we, or should we not, hold the event. Yes, there have been a couple weekends that we could have held the event, but each one was plagued with either one day of small surf, winds, or inconsistency.

We are doing our best to make educated calls that are in the benefit of everyone involved.We appreciate your patience and understanding in these matters and look forward to seeing you in the comingweeks when all things come together. After the coming weekend we have four weeksremaining in the waiting period and are looking to birth the 30th annual, 2013 Quiksilver Rincon Classic presentedby Channel Islands Surfboards, as soon as the water breaks...

Note: In order to qualify for a refund if you are unable to attend any of the upcoming weeks please send an emailASAP to chris@surfhappens.com so we may take a note and fill your spot in advance. Refunds will be issuedby the Wednesday following the event, or the same day in the case that a registrant cannot make any of the remaining weeksin the period.

Pray for a 285 degree, overhead, consistent 12-14 second swell, light winds, and sunny skies, hitting in the next few weekends!
