Alecia Rudge wins Fiji trip for getting wild with her mates

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 January, 2013 : - - While the east coast of Australia braces for a rise in swell and intensifying weather, Alecia Rudge will join three of her friends on the wave-rich Fjii island of Tavarua from the weekend for the surf trip of a lifetime. Rudge earned her trip to Fiji’s surfing heaven by winning the 2012 VB Surf Shout of the Year competition.

Alecia Rudge’s winning entry - "Flew up the coast with some surfing superpowers for the day. Donned capes, tights, masks and fake abs while enjoying some waves and a few beers. Best fun ever!” 

VB and Surfing Australia created the VB Surf Shout competition for Australia's 2.5 million surfers. It was an online competition exclusive to www.surfingaustralia.com/vb/ which offered the chance for Australian surfers to win a monthly prize for their best surf trip moment with their mates.

For her efforts, Rudge won a once in a lifetime surf trip for herself and three mates to Tavarua Island Resort, along with 4 Nikon digital cameras and one surf kit (surfboard, fins, legrope and boardbag).

Rudge was elated with the win. “It just keeps getting better and better,” she said. “We have been taken to the top of Bliss Mountain. Thank you so (so so) much. Love Surfing Australia and VB... The camera and surfboard kit arrived earlier this week and is awesome. Can't wait to test it out at Cloudbreak.”
