Watergate Bay unveils 2013 events calendar includes British National Champs

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 January, 2013 : - - Watergate Bay’s Extreme Academy has unveiled new additions to their 2013 events calendar. Eleven action packed events have been confirmed for 2013, with polo players lining up on the sand alongside surfers, endurance runners, international powerboat racers, kitesurfers and stand up paddle (SUP) surfers.

Student Surf Tour - 2 & 3 February 2013

Students from all over the country will compete in the Student Surf Tour on the weekend of 2 and 3 February 2013. Student surf teams of all abilities will congregate for two days of competitive surfing.

English National Surfing Championships 
4 to 6 May 2013
Following its 40th anniversary last year, the English National Surfing Championships will see the next generation of young surfers battle to knock established competitors off the top spot, over several divisions from 4 to 6 May 2013.

Electric Beach Festival - 31 August 2013

The Electric Beach Festival will return for its second year, following its debut in 2012 with hip hop legends De La Soul headlining the event. Around 2,500 people are expected to turn out for this year’s festival on 31 August 2013 with the headline act yet to be announced.

BSUPA National Championships - 4 to 6 October 2013

The fifth edition of the British Stand Up Paddle Association’s (BSUPA) National Championships will once again be hosted by the Extreme Academy. Some of Britain’s best stand up paddle surfers will compete for the title with divisions for both surf and distance racing from 4 to 6 October 2013.

European Pro Longboard Tour - Autumn 2013, dates to be confirmed
Rounding off the year at Watergate Bay is the European Pro Longboard Tour in the Autumn. The best surfers from across Europe will compete for points in the race to become Europe's champion.
