Wahu Surfer Groms Comp at Woollongong to run on the 23rd

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 January, 2013 : - - Due to a dangerous swell prediction for this forthcoming weekend, Surfing NSW has decided to reschedule the Wahu Surfer Groms Comp at Wollongong.

It’s expected that a combination of a massive southerly and an already existing solid north-easterly swell will be battering the NSW coastline from Friday afternoon.

Surfing NSW Event Manager, Luke Madden said: “It’s our duty of care to look out for the wellbeing of all the competitors at the event. Judging by all the forecasts and the solid swell that’s already pounding the NSW coastline, we’ve decided it’ll be in everyone’s best interest to reschedule the event.”

The Wollongong event will now run on the 23rd-24th of February 2013. The rescheduled event will be the final opportunity for the respective winners of the under-13 boys' and girls' finals to score an invite to attend an all-expenses paid, three-day Wahu Surf Camp at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre on March 8-10, 2013.
All surfers who had paid their entry fees for the event automatically gain entry into the rescheduled competition.
