Lost continues its expansion as spring 2013 merchandise hits stores

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 January, 2013 : - - Lost International, 2012 SIMA Image Awards Nominee for Breakout Brand of the Year and Surfboard of the Year, is excited to continue its expansion as spring 2013 merchandise hits stores. Lost International was established almost two decades ago and licensed its brand both in the USA and throughout the world.

In 2011, its owners Joel Cooper, Matt Biolos and Mike Reola took control of its USA license and began what has proved to be a successful turnaround of both its men’s and women’s clothing line. A new team  was carefully  chosen including merchandisers designers and marketers whose goal was to capitalize on the strength of the brand at a core level.

The surfboard business has continued to grow and inspired by the creative genius of its shaper and co- owner, Matt Biolos (MAYHEM) LOST SURFBOARDS can now make claim to be clearly the second biggest surfboard company in the world.

In a short period of 18 months Lost has launched its men’s and women’s line, created a new young women’s contemporary line, proving it can offer product across all categories including hard goods that retail.

“There is no substitute for “passion of ownership”, explains CEO Joel Cooper,  We have our brand back and can control our destiny, we have vision passion and drive. The challenge is to be ourselves, to be different. That is our goal.”

In the midst of difficult financial times especially in our sector of the market, LOST has not only been able to reopen almost all the key accounts but successfully grown its distribution focusing on the specialty store account base.

The successful turnaround of our brand and retail performance across all categories in both men’s and women’s makes us qualify to be nominated in the category of breakthrough brand of the year.
