Artists also designed unique sticker packs

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 February, 2013 : - - For the last year, the Looking Sideways crew have been using their shows to explore the creativity inherent in action sports in a series of unique collaborations between brands, artists and the stoked board-riding public.

The latest took place at their Boardmasters show in August 2012, at which they invited artists Ben Allen, Supermundane, Hannah Adamzsek, Owen Tozer, Phil Morgan, Matt Bromley and Matt Sewell to create huge large-scale works which were placed at different sites around Fistral Beach.

They also got the artists to design unique sticker packs – which were then handed out to ordinary festival-goers. "Rather than just be passive observers, we wanted them to get into the spirit of things by creating their own masterpieces inspired by the works of our artists" reckons LS Artistic Director Owen Tozer.

Once the ad-hoc pieces were in,  one lucky winner had their work turned into a one-off surfboard shaped by legendary local Cornish board-maker Adrian Phillips of Fluid Juice.

Check the film for a quick overview of how the entire project went down.
