Rip Curl includes footwear line to Gabriel Medina’s sponsorship

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 February, 2013 : - - Joining the Rip Curl Team when he was 15, the phenom Gabriel Medina has today extended his relationship with Rip Curl. Medina, who turned 19 on December 22nd, will be the face of Rip Curl’s footwear category globally, creating an even greater bond with the company.

“We are excited about this new reinforcement to Rip Curl’s footwear line, the company’s most promising product line worldwide”, said Rip Curl’s CEO for Brazil, Felipe Silveira. “In addition to the footwear line, Rip Curl has been working closely with Gabriel to develop his Mirage board short color way and the Rip Curl Gabriel Medina store, in Maresias beach”, said Felipe.

At just 19 years old, Gabriel Medina already ranks highly among the great names in surfing and the announcement today marks another commitment between Medina and Rip Curl.

“I’m stoked to be able to increase the bond with Rip Curl, who have been with me since the beginning of my professional career and gives me strong support all over the world”, said Medina.

Medina will be promoting Rip Curl’s footwear with a signature product line later coming out later this year.
