Starboard launches new line of boards

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 July, 2013 : - - Cape Town, South Africa - Starboard announces the launch of the Ultra and the AMP, the first 2 designs from the Starboard Surf Range. Introducing its Active Carbon technology, with boards starting at 2 kg. The Ultra is designed to ensure maximum small wave speed and performance, while the AMP offers a full attack, high performance summer shape.

The ACTIVE I-Beam Stringer is the key to the performance. Carbon core-cell creates extreme durability while memory foam allows for amazing flex. Put all these elements together with a full carbon construction, and you have the world lightest, most responsive surfboard.

Starboard’s die hard mad scientists are renowned for their innovation, proving that they can make a difference, with their brands leading the professional world rankings in kiteboarding, paddlesurfing and windsurfing.

"So the shortboards that Starboard has developed has changed the game in tech-knowledgy, developing a board that has supreme durability, lightness, and flex. These are the boards." – Sean Poynter, World SUP Champion

According to Founder, Svein Rasmussen "We have always focused on a unique approach to innovation in shape and construction technology and our surf range is no different. It’s not about thinking outside of the box, its about ignoring the box completely and starting from scratch. Our Surf team has developed a unique combination of the lightest and most responsive technology ever, combining these with ground breaking small wave shapes. These really highlight the benefits of the technology, while there is a lot more to come."
