    PitPilot Tsunami Marathon

Magazine staff run a full marathon, plus a little extra

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 April, 2005 : - - They said it wasn't possible, And they laughed….
They said we weren't prepared, And we weren't. But we did it… and then a little bit more for good measure…

Friday the 8th of April Joe Moran Editor and James Dart Production Manager of Pitpilot Magazine completed a 27.5 mile marathon for the Tsunami Surf Relief Appeal.

An idea born over a brew at the office 3 months ago became reality last Friday as we gingerly warmed up at the 'Lidl' car park in Wadebridge, the start of our Marathon. Both Joe and I have always wanted to run the marathon distance (26.2miles) and with the opportunity to raise money for good causes at the same time it seemed like a great idea.

Running between Wadebridge and Padstow a distance of 5.5 miles we ran back and forth five times a total distance of 27.5 miles, arriving at the Padstow end, in a time of 4hours 34minutes 34seconds.

So far we have raised nearly £400 between us, with extra donations coming in we hope to raise even more.

Pitpilot would like to say a big thank you to all those who have pledged there support and money along with the kind people at the Bridge cycle hire for the tandem. Thank you!!!

A special thanks to our support team of Ben and Dot Abbott and the hilarious tandem cycle duo of James Mitchel and Ben 'Skindog' Skinner who kept us going with food, water and 'Bin Bags'!?!?

If you would like anymore information or wish to pledge your support please by all means drop us call…..01673 878140
