Marlon Lipke creates ASP history, sets new record. 

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 June, 2005 : - - German  surfer Marlon Lipke created history today  by advancing through to the  final 24 surfers in the O'Neill Deep Blue Open in the Maldives - A  6 star Prime Rated ASP event - No German surfer has ever progressed this far in such a highly rated ASP event. Tomorrow Lipke faces highly rated World Championship Touring surfer Jake Patterson (Aus).

Update 12 June 2005: Marlon Lipke has gone on to defeat Jake Paterson and Adriano de Souza in the round of 24. Lipke was eventually eliminated in the Round of 16 man on man heat by Glen Hall (Australia) This outstanding performance has skyrocketed Marlon Lipke to 32nd on the WQS ratings.

Marlon Lipke, residing in the south of Postugal is the 2004 European ASP Junior Champion. He distingusihed himself earlier this year at the Billabong World Junior Championships at Narrabeeen in January by finishing third. One week ago he won the 2005 German National Championds's title for a fourth time at the German national championships held at St Girons in France.
