Nicolaus von Rupp wins Portugusese Junior Contest in Lagoa de Albufeira.
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 September, 2005 : - - The 6th National Junior Circuit Contest 2005 from September 23rd until 25th with 150 athletes participating was held in Lagoa de Albufeira near Sesimbra 20 minutes by car from Lisbon, a picturesque fishing town set in a sheltered bay. Sesimbra was founded on the hilltop around the Moorish castle that Dom Afonso Henriques (the first king of Portugal) was captured in 1165.
"I only could compete this year in 1 other Portuguese Junior Contest in Costa de Caparica" said Nicolaus von Rupp " winning again this weekend in Lagoa de Albufeira, Sesimbra was important to me, going thru all the heats in 1st place.
Having conflicting schedules and spending the summer in several Pro Junior Contests in Tapia, Spain and Hossegor, Lacanau, France it was important for him in his 2nd start to win this Portuguese Junior Title Contest.
In Lagoa de Albufeira, the last contest winner at Viana de Castelo Ivo Cacao was early excluded in the 1/8 final. Joaquim Guinchard is the leading the Portuguese rankings followed by Frederico Morais who came in 3 Place at this contest.
In the end Nicolaus took advantage of the waves battling out with strong and powerful win over Alexandre Botelho from the Algarve who also easily could win any bodybuilding competition, Frederico Morais was as good conquering the third place. Lucas Guichard was in fourth place, in his fourth final.

"Traveling with the new 2005/2006 European Champion and Friend Jeremey Flores from Reuinon Island to the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships 2005 in Huntington Beach, California will be something I look forward too" said Nicolau von Rupp when asked what is next.
The Championship will be hosted by Surfing America in the Categories: Juniors (under- 18, under- 16, Girls under 18) coming up on the 8th of October it will be the 2nd time after last years World Surfing Championship in Tahiti for Nicolaus to compete and with Lufthansa as sponsor an easy way to travel to Los Angeles, California.
