Michael Picon (Fra) reaches 9000 pts on the WQS ratings, getting closer to the WCT qualification.

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 October, 2005 : - -  After reaching the final of the La Santa Surf Pro 4 Star WQS Event in Lanzarote, 26-year-old Frenchman Michael Picon reached the symbolic 9000 pts limit, being now in the best position to qualify for the WCT . After a regular and focused year which gave him amongst other results a semi final in the 6 Star US Open of Surfing, the surfer from Hossegor will now finish the year more confident than ever.

“It's been an amazing year for me and since my injury five years ago I've kept in mind the goal of qualification for the WCT. I felt last year with the scores I was getting that my surf was about to reach the level needed and now I've got 9045 pts, with a third place. I am already heading to the last 6 Star Events but with less pressure as I'll just keep on doing what I've done for two years now,” said the best European on the WQS ratings.
