Gotcha Rider Nikita Robb Launches Her Own Website
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 November, 2005 : - - South African U16 surfer Nikita Robb (East London) has launched her own website and brand selling t-shirts, caps and surfboards. The sky is the limit for the extremely talented Gotcha team rider who is the two times SA U16 Champion, has won two international surfing events and is going for gold in the Gotcha DHL Pro held in Umhlanga (Dbn) from 9 to 11 December.
Robb has taken the initiative to create her website which includes a full portfolio of results, her goals, newspaper clipping as well as high quality action shots. “I feel that this is my future career and I want to tell people that I am in business. I want to let everyone know out there that this is a serious business and we surfers are professionals and go-getters,” explained Robb.
“Also I would like to encourage all young people to dream and to keep those dreams alive as that is the first step towards making them happen,” added the surf star. Earlier this year Robb was crowned the Belle at Bells Beach after winning the Inaugural Rip Curl International GromSearch Final. Later in July, being pretty much a new face in the international circuit Robb clinched the Inaugural Target Pro Junior Women US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California.
Not resting on her laurels the determined surfer went on to win the Volcom Elephantfish title in Port Alfred in September. She is a member of the SA Junior Surfing Team who placed 5th in Tahiti in 2004 and scooped 4th at Huntington Beach, California this year.On her success Robb said the secret lay in the 3 D’s, “Hard work, dedication, determination and devotion is necessary to succeed in anything. I learnt this from one of my coaches, he called it the 3 D`S.”
“I have one more year of school, during which I want to compete and win the SA Champs U18 and The Billabong Junior Series in SA. When I finish School I am going to become a Professional Surfer and do the WQS and qualify for the WCT and God willing become World Champion. My two International wins this year were stepping-stones towards achieving this dream,” said Robb.
The next big event for Robb is the Rip Curl GromSearch Grand Final which takes place in Durban on November 26 and 27 where she hopes to repeat her past success and win a trip overseas to compete in the International Final at Bells Beach.
