    Taylor Jensen takes the V South Island International Longboard Pro-Am title

    Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 March, 2006 : - - Entries flooded in for 4th “V” South Island International Longboard Pro-Am held in Kaikoura this weekend. Organisers competitors and judges faced long hours in getting through the heats when the event became fully subscribed at 120 competitors. However on Friday the conditions Mangamaunu point which were rated by locals at 8 or 9 out of 10. allowing the contest to get well under way. Glassy 3 foot right handers peeled in all day giving all competitors a chance to show off their repertoire.

    Local surfers fared well against stiff competition from a strong contingent of surfers from UK, USA and Australia. 5 Star points were on offer attracting the key national surfers competiting in the Hyundai national circuit. Heats continued through Saturday & Sunday with a slightly smaller and shiftier conditions
