Ramps and Rails Get the Attention of the American Kite Surfing Association

Logan Long, co-founder of the association was not surprised by the results; “It’s just simply the biggest adrenaline rush available. The combination of air, water, land, wind power, physical strength and balance the force of nature are the qualities that attract Kite Surfers.”

Kickers and Sliders offer a high adrenaline new discipline to kite surfing. Ramps and rails are built and securely placed in the water. They are used to slide up or along and can be combined with freestyle. If they are not kite surfed correctly they can seriously harm the surfer or damage their kit, so helmets must be worn and surfers must unhook (without a leash) as they are attempted. This side of the sport is for advanced kite surfers and is taking the sport in the direction of skateboarding.

American Kite Surfing Association is the leading organization for kite surfers in North America. Founded in 2006 by two extreme sport enthusiasts, membership is anticipated to exceed 30,000 before the end of the year.
