2006 Mavericks Live Tour goes off in Times Square NYC

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 May, 2006 : - - On Saturday May 13th, a lucky bunch of surf enthusiasts had the chance to experience the sights and sounds of Mavericks in New York City. The 2006 Mavericks Live Tour, this year featuring performances by Slightly Stoopid and Pepper, kicked off at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square.

Over a dozen of "The 24" surfers were on hand to help celebrate the Contest broadcast on NBC and on the Reuters Sign in Times Square, and to enjoy the sounds of Slightly Stoopid & Pepper. From New York the Tour moves on to Florida, playing to packed crowds of thousands at Hard Rock Live venues in Hollywood and Orlando.

Some surfers present in NYC were Russell Smith, Kenny Collins, Jeff Clark, Grant Baker, Shane Desmond, and Grant Washburn
