City to Dedicate Lopez Signs in Recognition of Surfing Achievements

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 June, 2006 : - - Indian Rocks Beach, Florida...One of IRB's favorite son's, World Championship Surfer, Cory Lopez will be opening a new Surf and Skate shop on Gulf Blvd. next to Coasters Bar and Grill. The Grand Opening is slated to take place sometime in June or July (exact dates *TBA).

Cory and big brother Shea, grew-up surfing in Indian Rocks Beach and are widely regarded as two of the top Pro Surfers in the World, having won six (6) X Games Gold Medals between them and two (2) US OPEN Titles. Cory's father Pete will also be involved with the shop. The final name is still yet to be announced.

The city of Indian Rocks Beach also plans to dedicate official signs that will commemorate the accomplishments of the World Famous "Lopez Brothers" in the sport of surfing. The sign unveiling ceremony will be coordinated with the Surf Shop Grand Opening celebrations this summer.

Cory and brother Shea will be competing for their 4th ESPN X GAMES Gold Medal in Puerto Escondido, Mexico July 2-6.
