    Quiksilver Munich Surf Open 2006

Quiksilver searches for Munich's best river surfer

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 July, 2006 : - - The surf is high in Munich. In cooperation with the Grossstadtsurfer e.V., Quiksilver is looking for the city's best river surfer. 60 competitors will have a chance to win the title at the Quiksilver Munich Surf Open on July 22nd, 2006. A surf contest far from the ocean? Quiksilver, long-time advocate of the spirit of surfing, makes it possible. Even far away from Europe's beaches, the board sports company supports the surfing community.

The Quiksilver Munich Surf Open 2006 is the sixth event of its kind to determine Munich's best river surfer. The open competition, on the traditional location on the river near Thalkirchen, will once again be a magnet for international surfers and wave riders from Munich, as well as many interested spectators.

The competition is split into different categories. Points are awarded for the best style, the most radical maneuvers, and variations of each run. Each competitor will receive Quiksilver starter kits and contest shirts, and the winners will enjoy prizes, which make surfer hearts beat a little faster. A large buffet is available during the competition, and afterwards a traditional bbq party will be held in the park together with the riders and spectators. After the winners are announced, a huge open-air surf party with life bands will round out the event.
