2006/07 Big Wave season events & sessions updates

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 15 August, 2006 : - - Here we are already 4 months in to the 2006/07 Big-Wave Surfing season. The Red Bull Big Wave Africa event has been run and won, the Oakley ASL Big Wave Awards have produced some phenomenal contenders, with perhaps the biggest wave ever ridden in Australia amonst them.

A number of events have already been announced for this season, including Nelscott Reef, The Eddie, and the BSA Gold Rush Big Wave Event. Beyond the Oakley ASL contender sessions, July 28 produced a giant swell at Teahupoo, Mexico has had a huge swell. Below are some of the Big Wave stories of 2006/07 so far.
