Super Japan Typhoon loke vs. Towsurfer Crew and Red Bull Tai Fu

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 September, 2006 : - -  Towsurfer.com crew and big wave chargers Garrett Mcnamara and Kealii Mamala along with filmmaker Larry Haynes are currently flying to Japan for massive Typhoon Loke swell.

It is expected that Monday and Tuesday will be the window of opportunity to tow into some giant waves. This will be the first attempt by both Garret and his tow-in partner Kealii to conquer a typhoon swell of this magnitude. Swell heights could reach into the 25'-30' range during the rise the swell. This means face heights could potentially reach 60'-70' or bigger. The Towsurfer crew will not be alone.

Red Bull Tai Fu has a mission of their own organized by Ross Clarke Jones, Carlos Burle, Ian Walsh, Tom Carroll, Beau Emerton, Shimpei Horigichi and Jun Jo. We will keep you posted with the latest news and images in this amazing chase for the biggest and best waves in the world.

To stay in touch with events in Japan click here to go to the Red Bull Tai Fu website. Check "Project Status" for latest news.
