NSSA GOLD COAST AT PISMO PIER: Lots of Shredding Going On!
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 September, 2006 : - - Besides dishing up the world’s best clam chowder, the reputation at Pismo Beach is usually frigid ocean temps with windy and big, gnarly close-outs. But mother nature scored for the Gold Coasters this weekend. Beautiful warm weather and great surf thanks to a moderate combo of southwest and northwest swell was at our disposal for the fourth stop of the Gold Coast conference season.
The contest was held in clean and glassy chest to head high rights and lefts on both the south and north sides of the Pismo Pier. Standout performances were in the blood as the Erickson brother and sister dynamic duo Noah and Sage took charge in their individual divisions while the Coffin brothers Conner and Parker notched up solid wins in Boys and Menehuenes respectively. Sage’s victory count climbed to five as she remains undefeated in west coast competition this season.
The season win record held by Cory Arrambide at 21 could be in jeopardy as Sage appears to be on record breaking pace. We’ll keep you posted on that one. Dillon Perillo picked up his third GC win of the season in a super tight decision over Adam Lambert. Cathernine Clark surfed a brilliant final to secure her first win of the season in the Girls final while Cole Robbins stayed on a tear in the Longboard winning his fourth straight.
Don Day was on fire in the Masters nailing a great ride in the final minutes to seal the deal. Mike “Slamz” Lamm executed a perfect game plan of good wave selection and solid surfing en route to his second season triumph in the Seniors.
