Title

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 October, 2006 : - - The 1st Annual Girls Who Surf Amateur Wahine Surf Contest was held to recognize surf talent and develop community between female surfers.  Kewalo Bowls was dedicated to girls surfing THIS WEEKEND ONLY.  Shortboard, longboard, and body board divisions took place for the ages of 8-18, 19-29, and 30 and over. 

Heats were 15 minutes each— quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.  Professional female surfers (Helena Suehiro, Carrisa Moore, Lane Davie, Coco Ho & more) were there to judge and emcee the event.  Contest awards and prizes were given to the top three places of each division.  Food, Event DVD’s, product promotions, and surfing and female related non-profit representatives (Surfrider, Blue Water, and others were on hand).
