ESA WFL Contest #2 Goes Off In Rough Conditions

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 November, 2006 : - - The second ESA WFL disctict contest of 2006 (first of the new season) went down Saturday October 28th at South Jetty Nokomis, Florida. Over 80 surfers surfed in around 30 heats under fairly rough chest-shoulder high conditions.

Red tide was bad in the morning but seemed to disappear by the afternoon with conditions getting real dumpy. But soon the lefts would start to open on the higer tide with some of the best scoring waves of the day as the heats started to wind down.

It’s not often we have contests in WFL. But the ESA WFL district aims at bringing 3 or more contests per season to this surf starved area which seems to come allive more often in the winter.
