Typhoon "SENIANG" (Utor)

Typhoon "SENIANG" (Utor) has maintained its strength after it made landfall over Guiuan, Eastern Samar at noontime.

Typhoon "SENIANG" has maintained its strength after it made landfall over Guiuan, Eastern Samar at noontime. More details

It has been a destructive and deadly typhoon season for the Philippines. A little over a week ago, Typhoon Durian tore through the Philippines and caused much death and destruction, particularly near Manila. Utor (referred to as "Seniang" in the Philippines) is now a typhoon (120kph sustained winds) and forecast to weaken slightly as it crosses the Central Philippines, then strengthen again once it crosses into the South China Sea on Sunday (Eastern time). Utor is forecast to be approaching the coast of Vietnam late Wednesday night (Eastern time) as a typhoon.

This will be the 6th typhoon to impact the typhoon-weary country this year.
