“SOLE SURFER” - a new twist on the age-old thong shape that pays homage to great moments in surfboard design.

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 January  2007 : - - SOLE SURFER’S come in a range of surfboard-inspired tail shapes – Single flyer Pin tail, Swallow tail, Square tail.  SOLE SURFER has been busy over the last five years going through the formal patent/trademark processes, securing this innovation in footwear worldwide. Now SOLE SURFER ready to unveil their world-first range of surfboard-shaped footwear.

Signature models will honour some of our greatest surfboard shapers and their designs through the eras - old school and new school. Keen surfers with a sense of history will want to collect whole quivers for their feet. Current SOLE SURFER signature models featuring 1970’s World renowned surfer, shaper Terry Fitzgerald “The Sultan of Speed” and 1980’s pioneer surfer, shaper and inventor of the Tri Fin (Thruster) Simon Anderson.

Sole Surfer is the brainchild of lifelong surfer Justin King, who grew up at Avalon Beach, on Sydney’s northern beaches, through the eras of single fins, twin fins and thrusters.  “Sole Surfer was inspired by growing up in and around the surf movement in the ‘70s ‘80s, and ‘90s,” says Justin. “Those shapes have now become Sole Surfer.”

The SOLE SURFER footwear line is available in 3 X tail shapes and will come with authentic surfboard graphics, down to board labels, stringers and leg rope plugs.  There are numerous different names around the world for Flip Flops –  eg; thongs (Aust) flip flops (USA), sandals(UK), Jandals (NZ) slides, slaps and so on.

There is now a Flip Flop that is identified by it’s unique shape that has one name around the world ... SOLE SURFER.  SOLE SURFER is launching globally and is going to blow the tail out in the footwear market.
