Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 April, 2007 : - - The Lizzard Nandos Surf Pro is a One Star World Qualifying Series event, which includes a Pro Men’s, Grade 1 ASP International Pro Junior Men’s, and 2A Surfing South Africa Women’s divisions.

All heats consist of four surfers with the top two in each heat advancing to the next round until four remain to contest the final in each division. The finals will be staged on Monday 9 April.
The One Star World Qualifying Series Men’s Division and Grade One ASP International Pro Junior are sanctioned by ASP International with points earned counting towards surfers WQS ratings. The and 2A Women’s divisions is sanctioned by Surfing South Africa with the points earned counting towards the annual Surfing South Africa Pro Surf Tour (PST) title.
There is a total of 100 000 prize-money across all three divisions. The Men’s total prize –money is $US 10 000 (R70 000) with US $2500 (R17 500) for the winner. The Pro Junior Men’s division is the most prestigious Junior Contest on the African Continent with US$ 5000 (R35 000) total prize money and US$ 2000 (R14 000) for the winner. The 2A rated women’s division holds R5000 overall and R2000 for the winner.
The event sponsors are International Surf wear brand Lizzard and Portuguese Chicken Chain Nandos. The event is presented by the Weekend Witness. The event co-sponsors are Bavaria, Nestle Pure Life Water, Bokoma, Durban Africa and Clayton Surfboards. The event is produced by Nerve Advertising and Events. Paul Goodwin is the executive producer and Colin Fitch of ASP Africa is the contest director.
