Vodacom Paddle Challenge winners decided in Durban Miss Vodacom Easter Adrenaline crowned
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 April, 2007 : - - Today, local beauty Carol Marie (Newlands West) was crowned Miss Vodacom Easter Adrenaline in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the fifth annual Vodacom Easter Adrenaline extreme sports beach festival on Durban’s Golden Mile. A number of breathtaking events are taking place at North Beach, Bay Lawns, Bay Beach and the Skate Park. The festival runs from 6 to 9 April; over the first three days 196 thousand beachgoers were recorded on the Durban Beachfront.
“I feel ecstatic I really didn’t expect to win Miss Vodacom Easter Adrenaline especially because there were so many beautiful girls that entered. I am so thrilled to have won such great prizes from Vodacom and Motorola,” commented 20 year old Marie who is a part-time model studying Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Kwazulu Natal.
The final Vodacom Paddle Challenge also took place on today where competitors’ endurance paddling was tested to the limits with a 5km course. Blane Wood (Durban) was in top form once again and powered to a well deserved first place as did super fit Kendal Artz (Westville). Both Woods and Artz went on to win the overall Vodacom Paddle Challenge men’s and women’s titles respectively for their exceptional performances over the last three days.

Monday sees the final day of Vodacom Easter Adrenaline take place with Brian Capper’s Extreme Riding Exhibition, Vodacom Freestyle Motocross, the Vodacom Skateboarding Contest and free Vodacom Ocean Experience surfing lessons.
