    Quiksilver State Surfing Titles

    Nubeena,  Tasmania
    14 - 15 April 2007

Quiksilver State Titles come to Tasmania this Saturday

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 April, 2007 : - - Prestigious state surfing titles will be decided this weekend when around 40 of the state’s best surfers meet for the Quiksilver State Titles. Winners will be crowned in four divisions; the U/18 Boys, U/16 Boys, U/18 Girls and U/16 Girls divisions, with all division champions receiving automatic selection to represent Tasmania at the national Quiksilver Aussie Grommet titles scheduled for South Australia in December.

Event co-ordinator John Boyes expects a minimum of two-to-three foot (1m) surf, sunny weather and offshore winds for this weekend’s competition, with options of sending surfers out at Clifton, Eaglehawk Neck or Roaring Beach near Nubeena – depending on conditions.

“I’m confident we’ll have nice offshore waves,” explained Boyes of the one day event, with the official location to be announced when competitors meet at 7:30am, Saturday morning at the Lauderdale Tavern car park. 2007 is the first year Australian founded surfwear company Quiksilver has sponsored all of the State Surfing Titles, incorporating similar events in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and West Australia.
