BRADLEYS TURN UP THE HEAT AT BOWLS in C4 WATERMAN SERIES
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 July, 2007 : - - Honolulu -- Stage three of the C4 Waterman stand-up paddle (SUP) surfing series, held at Ala Moana bowls this weekend, saw Honolulu's Todd Bradley turn the tables on Leleo Kinimaka (Big Island) for the first time this summer. Kinimaka leads the series having won one final and placed in the other with a front-side attack at Sunset Beach, on the North Shore, and Queen's in town.
But the sucky, speedy lefts of Bowls were paradise for Bradley who sewed up the final with the only tube-ride, getting covered, paddle and all. The C4 Waterman stand-up paddle series is part of the annual Steinlager Shaka Longboard Series, presented by Quiksilver. Runner-up in the stand-up division was Igor Lumuertz (Haleiwa), Leleo Kinimaka was third, and Titus Kinimaka (Kauai), fourth.
"I knew it was going to be exciting getting to finally surf front-side," said Bradley. "Plus, with Brian Keaulana, his nephew Nolan Keaulana and Dave Parmenter in Japan this week, I figured it would be my best chance to get a look-in," he laughed.

Despite the strong showing from the 'Usual Suspects', there were still a few surprises, the biggest one coming from 15-year-old Brendan Bradley - Todd's youngest son. Narrowly missing out on the final, the smallest Bradley stunned his competition as he tore up Bowls on a brand new custom 9'0" by Dave Parmenter, executing more than a couple of the most critical turns of the event to prove that you don't have to compromise form for function when it comes to SUP surfing.
The fourth event of the series will be held September 7 & 8 at either Queen's or Haleiwa, depending upon which is packing the most punch on the day. Next weekend the SUP team will trade in the waves for the 32-mile open-ocean crossing of the Quiksilveredition Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard Race, on Sunday, July 29. C4 Waterman will be presenting the SUP division of the race that will feature solo paddlers and two-person teams.
